Day 106: There is a board for every purpose!

Updates on what’s happening at Dean Court!

Plaster delivery croppedIt was never very likely that, with quantities of plaster arriving, the building was going to stay as squeaky-clean as Nick and Serge got it.

In fact, though, it’s looking pretty orderly, considering. Which just goes to reinforce my boring mantra that a tidy space is a happy / safe / efficient space.  Although admittedly it has probably got a lot to do with the quality of the team working here as well.

Bill measuring thermal board

In modern construction, with its awareness of eco-issues, there seems to be a specific board for every purpose, and every board seems to come with the option of its own in-built insulation.  So as Bill cuts through the plasterboard he is measuring at present, he will also be cutting through its own layer of insulation.

There will also be a board in use called vapour board, which, as its name suggests, should help to deal with condensation – useful in kitchen areas, obviously, but also, Matthew tells me, in vaulted buildings, which seems to make sense to me.
